Hygenex® Recoat® Coating System Application Instructions

CLEANING THE SURFACE USING HYGENEX RECOAT SURFACE CLEANER
(BLUE COLOURED LIQUID)

Spray the whole surface and rub into the substrate using the NT130 grey coloured cloth provided to ensure that all traces of dirt, grease and oil is removed.

  • If necessary, repeat the process to ensure that the substrate is completely clean.

  • Allow the surface to dry (typically around 15 minutes)

COATING THE SURFACE WITH HYGENEX RECOAT ANTIMICROBIAL PROTECTOR
(WHITE COLOURED BOTTLE)

  • Shake the bottle for 10 seconds.

  • Wet the blue coloured ‘Nanofibre’ cloth with water and wring out so that it is damp.

  • The cloth has two different sides, use the one with the longer fibres for the application.

  • Spray the AM Protector on approximately 80% of the surface and a further amount onto the cloth.

  • Apply plenty of the coating to the substrate.

  • The application cloth will soak up the liquid from the surface until it becomes saturated at which time the correct thickness of the coating will remain on the substrate.

  • Once the application cloth is saturated with the coating, smaller and more intricate surfaces (such as door handles) can be treated.

  • For such areas spray the Antimicrobial Protector directly on the microfibre cloth and spread the coating gently over the surface.

  • DO NOT rub or polish, just disperse the product with light movements, avoid using too much pressure.

  • The coating will be touch dry in around 15 minutes and after 3 hours the coating will be hard enough to be handled – so surfaces such as door handles will benefit from being treated at the end of the working day, allowing a natural drying & curing period.

  • Place the wet application cloth in the plastic bag and seal closed ready for further use.

  • The product is water based and so equipment and cloths can be washed in water.

USER ADVICE

  • To prevent the trigger from clogging by dried-up coating, before storing the bottle after use, remove the trigger device from the bottle, stick the suction tube in clean water and use the trigger briefly until clean water is coming out of the trigger. Then put the trigger back on the bottle while leaving the water in the system. The bottle can now be safely stored until the next application.

Once dry, the surface is antimicrobial. The antimicrobial coating will last up to 6 months.  Presence of the antimicrobial coating can be identified with a UV light, for future top-up applications just repeat the process.
