We were delighted to give our support to Southmead Hospital Charity at the Hallsay Golf day which took place on Wednesday 12th September. The team was made up of our own Kieran Wood and Steve Carmichael plus golfers from GCP Architects and Woodstock Timber. It was a fun day and we were one of only 3 teams out of 18 to return to the club house with the ‘lucky’ pink ball which gained the team extra points, although still not enough to put us on the leader board.
Southmead Hospital Charity raises funds to support the healthcare services at Southmead Hospital Bristol, Cossham Hospital and in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset communities to raise funds for projects that are beyond the remit of the NHS. The money raised by the Halsall golf day was for the Richard Bright Renal Centre at Southmead Hospital Bristol, one of the largest of its kind in the South West of England. It carries out more than 100 kidney transplants every year and the unit is continually pioneering new techniques to enable highly sensitised patients as well as recipients and donors with incompatible blood groups, to have a live kidney transplant.
We haven’t been given the final number yet, but it is believed the event raised between £3,000 and £3,500 for the renal facility at Southmead Hospital. Well done to all who attended on the day, we were delighted to support such a worthy cause.
