Position - Head of Business Development 

Responsible to - Group Sales Director

Location - Poole/Hybrid

 

The Head of Business Development is responsible for leading the company's efforts in identifying new business opportunities, building key customer relationships, and negotiating and closing business deals.

This role involves extensive market research, strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration to drive business growth and achieve targets in accordance with the company’s business plan.

You will have the opportunity to build the business development team at DDC Dolphin and become be a core member of our management team. You will be immersed in the fast-paced environment of an innovative company with ambitious growth aspirations.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to expand the company's market share and win new business in the UK hospital and care sectors.
  • Achieve annual growth and profitability targets in accordance with the company’s business plan.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Lead negotiations and close opportunities that align with the company's strategic objectives and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and initiatives that support the business development strategy.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the board of directors on market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Manage and mentor a team of business development professionals, setting clear goals and performance metrics.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
     

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven history of success in a head of business development role, preferably within the UK hospital and / or care sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills, with a proven history of building high level relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience of managing teams and driving performance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude who is driven to succeed.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Full driving licence
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related subject. - Desirable
