Helping You To Care For Your Residents

Centred around comfort and convenience, DDC Dolphin machinery fits easily into care home living quarters, simultaneously saving time and preventing the spread of infection.

Reducing risks involved with close-quarters living, our washer disinfectors ensure that reusable bedpans, urinals and commode pots are thoroughly sanitised, before going back into circulation.

Meanwhile, pulp bedpans and urinals will make personal care quick and hygienic, before they’re completely disposed of in a pulp macerator.

In addition, DDC Dolphin’s products can help you to handle soiling incidents with greater ease.

The Incomatic macerator helps to provide a dignified process for managing incontinence, so your clients remain clean, comfortable and content.

Should those in your care become unwell, it can be incredibly distressing, which is why preventable infections must be mitigated through safe waste management. Keeping clients safe and happy is a top priority for any caregiver, and your involvement in the safe disposal of human waste is integral.

Allowing you to spend more time providing company and support, working with DDC Dolphin makes auxiliary tasks quick, simple and effective.

Increased job satisfaction is one of its many benefits, as your time can be spent where it’s needed most.

Helping you to feel fully supported in your role as a carer, we even provide full training in how to use our machinery, so you can feel confident in your workplace’s infection control procedure.

Furthermore, using our infection control solutions will dramatically reduce the risk of your own exposure to HCAIs, as well as the stress of being ill and unable to work.

Avery Healthcare operates residential, dementia and nursing care homes throughout the UK, with a focus on the highest possible standards of living for its residents. Based in Northampton and with care homes across the country, Avery Healthcare has a pedigree and standing within the care industry that is known for quality.

The Challenge

With the emphasis firmly on residential quality of care, Avery Healthcare required a partner to provide equipment and maintenance for its dirty utility rooms right across its 30 plus locations.

Cleanliness and infection control are paramount to the running of Avery's care home sites, so when it came to equipping and maintaining its important sluice room areas nationwide, Avery found DDC Dolphin to be the most suitable partner.

The Solution

DDC Dolphin has been working with Avery Healthcare since 2009, supplying Panamatic Washer Disinfectors and other bedpan washing solutions, as well as various items of Hygenex furniture for their sluice rooms, such as tables, shelves and cabinets.

DDC Dolphin continues to exclusively provide sluice room equipment to Avery and has an ongoing service contract for all Avery care homes.

The Outcome

"We very much see DDC Dolphin as an established supplier and business partner. Over the years we have fostered a great working relationship, and remain assured that their service and maintenance division is fast to react and only a phone call away from any of our sites."

St John's Care Facility, Canada

Eastern Health is the largest integrated health organization in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. They provide the full continuum of health services to a regional population of more than 300,000 and are responsible for a number of unique provincial programs. They employ over 13,000 healthcare and support services professionals and believe in providing the best quality of care and health service delivery in their region and in the province. Eastern Health extends west from St. John's to Port Blandford and includes all communities on the Avalon, Burin and Bonavista Peninsulas.

The Challenge

To coincide with the opening of the brand-new St John’s long-term care facility, the decision was made to ensure that the new buildings had sluice rooms fitted out with macerators rather than the traditional washer disinfectors.

The Solution

They decided to tender the supply of macerators and during the submissions process there was a thorough analysis of all the major manufacturers of macerators. DDC Dolphin, through its unique combination of totally hands-free operation and the nine-bladed maceration system, was chosen as the perfect solution. Medical Mart, our distribution partner for Canada, therefore provided the winning bid.

The Outcome

“From an Infection Prevention & Control perspective, I have experienced the use of DDC Dolphin macerators in our long-term care facilities. The system is very simple to use and provides a clean, green resource for disposal of human waste utensils. The macerators help to prevent any cross-contamination during outbreaks and staff really like the fact that they do not have to perform any pre-cleaning that could expose them to organisms such as C. difficile.

Staff find it very beneficial that this system is completely handsfree, decreasing the risk for transmission of microorganisms. We had a Norovirus outbreak on this unit recently and compared to last year with no macerator available on this unit, the population affected was much lower.”
